CARBON HARDTAIL FRAME

Starting from rough sketches and ergonomic geometry, I modeled a mountain bike frame in Solidworks. The frame incorporates standards of bicycle design, such as the bottom bracket diameter and the axle spacing, while geometry such as the head tube angle, chainstay length, and top tube length were chosen to represent my personal riding style. CHALLENGE

Learn how to create free flowing, complex, yet geometrically accurate forms using computer aided design tools.

SOLUTION

Utilizing advanced surfacing features in Solidworks, the frame was carefully modeled with ride quality in mind. Special attention was given to the joints of the frame to ensure rigidity and mitigate stress.
